Optical clarity and glass-filled, in one shop

Optical-clarity resins are unforgiving. Any blemish in the cavity transfers straight to a surface the customer looks through, so tooling has to be polished and protected, and the material handled to avoid contamination and moisture.

Glass-filled engineering resins are the opposite problem: the glass fibre that gives the part its stiffness is abrasive, and it steadily wears the tool that shapes it.

Those two requirements pull tooling and process in opposite directions, which is why most contract molders settle on one and decline the other.

Running both means a product with a clear lens and a structural chassis does not have to be split between two suppliers, with the tolerance stack-up and the finger-pointing that follows.

PCR and recycled-content work including 30%-recycled PMMA, circular-economy traceability verification, and ongoing testing of bamboo and rPET blends. Raw-material inspection and SGS-certified BPA-free / EU food-contact-safe testing are built into the standard process.

Which plastics can you mold?

Our tested library covers ABS, PC, PC+ABS, PP, PS, PMMA (acrylic), PET and rPET, CPET, IPET, AS, MS, TPE, TPR, Tritan, PCTG and glass-filled PBT. Every material has an on-file spec sheet, SDS and prior production runs behind it.

Do you offer recycled or PCR material?

Yes. We run an active PCR and recycled-content program, including 30%-recycled PMMA, circular-economy traceability verification, and ongoing testing of bamboo and rPET blends.

Are your materials food-contact safe?

SGS-certified BPA-free and EU food-contact-safe testing is built into the standard process, alongside raw-material inspection on receipt. Confirm the specific grade against your market’s requirements when you send the enquiry.

Can you run both optical and glass-filled resins?

Yes, and it is unusual. Optical-clarity resins like Tritan, PCTG and acrylic demand immaculate cavity surfaces and careful handling; glass-filled resins such as PBT+GF are abrasive and wear tooling. Most shops commit to one discipline. We run both.

How do I choose between materials?

It is normally a trade-off between mechanical requirement, appearance, regulatory constraint and cost. Send the part’s duty — loads, temperatures, contact, expected life, target price — rather than a material name, and we will come back with options and the implications of each.
